Spring Cleaning!
Have you ever noticed that things can pile up? Things like laundry and dishes can be a real chore. But cleaning out your TpT wish list is another story. That can be downright fun!

Five For Friday
Oh what a wonderful week I had! My son is in kinder and he had school all week. My husband and I did not! All three of us are at different schools and on slightly varied schedules that “kind of” line up with each other. This week my hubby and I had an entire week without a chaperone! We had a blast!!!!! Here is what we did.

On Monday we hit Disneyland. We rode everything outside of Fantasyland. Let’s just say the Kinderbear does not like fast rides.
Tuesday Breakfast at Richie’s Diner! Oh my goodness are you kidding me! Yummy! We went to Target to look at bikes, and found ones we love. Then we came home, did some blogging, and curriculum making.
Wednesday we saw OZ…. love! Then we went out to lunch, shopped for a while, and enjoyed grown up conversation. Not that we mind talking with the Kinderbear. We love it, but his range of topics is often limited to the DS, Wii, Curious George, Scooby Doo, Kindergarten, and other riveting themes. It was nice to branch out and use my big girl vocabulary.
Thursday, that’s right we went back again… we did not see it in 3D the first time. We knew we had missed out, so we went back. Holy moly what a difference!

We also went to Target to buy the bikes we found on Tuesday. It was quite an adventure. We borrowed our neighbors truck to go buy the bikes at the Target close to our home. They have two of each bike. We called ahead of time. No problem! We get there, and ummmm where are the bikes ? Gone… I was stupefied! But we borrowed our neighbors truck! You said you had two bikes! I want that yellow bike! All thoughts I kept to myself. My Mr. handled his disappointment well too.
Friday… going to school today to “track on”. I am a year round teacher. So what is it like to “track on”? I want you to imagine when you were first teaching. You walked into your room. You had furniture, text books, and a dream. That’s what I walk into 3 times a year. I unpack boxes, search for stuff I stashed all over campus, and like the Wizard himself I create magic! I’ll post pictures tonight as an add on to this post.
Where’s the romance you ask? I can’t write about hanky panky! Our mother’s might be reading this blog! But I will say this… I love Spring Break!
My pals and I are cleaning out our wishlists and buying the things we need for spring! So we got to talking and decided to throw a sale. It starts tomorrow! 15% off our stores!!!!!! Yippie!

I Can’t Print My Download from TpT!

Bright Ideas,
Tutorial
Have you ever said those words? “I can’t print my TpT file!” Me too. The very first person, who bought my very first unit could not print it. This happened because the file has lots of graphics. I freaked! I emailed TpT and paced the floor until they emailed back. It was an easy fix! Click this before you click that, and then click OK. Ta-Da my printer started humming… Life was good.

I hope this helps. There is nothing more annoying than trying to print a file and it won’t work. No need to break out into a sweat. No need to cuss (though it can fun). Just follow these easy steps and you will be set.
Here is what to do!
Let’s break this down!

3. and 4.
The “Advanced Screen” disappears after you click OK.
High / Low Linky Party
I cannot believe the month of March is almost over!!!!!!!!!!! I mean seriously!!!! Time is flying and I need my pilot’s license to keep up! It’s time for us to share our highs and lows for the month. Here are your graphics to grab and use as you choose.
My sweet sister in law gave birth to her first child. You could not find a more excited aunt than me. Serious joy swells in me!
Oh she is so sweet. I am glad I have been on vacation and can slip over and snuggle both of them and take pictures! Oh my gosh she is to die for! I got to see her 27 minutes after she was born!
27 minutes!
Now the low point of the month came for me while visiting my sister in the hospital 27 minutes after she gave birth. My own experience giving birth bubbled up with all the joy I felt for my sister. I wrote all about having a child in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit {here}. To say that my sister’s story and mine were different is an understatement. This was the real low point of my life, I kind of relived it in March… But God is so good and has provided me new comfort and insights. For as sick as my Jackson was, he is fantastic now. He is the source of so many of my highs!
I do realize that this is a picture of a picture…I do realize this is nerdy! But I wanted you to see my healthy handsome son. He has never been so handsome as he is right now. He has lost his two front teeth and he is my shiny new penny! As a matter of fact, every morning I scrub his little face, teeth, work magic on his hair, and slather him with sunscreen. After all this mothering, I yell out to my house, “Shiny new penny”. My husband comes to see him, taking in our little masterpiece and declares that he is, “So handsome!”. This is our routine and how we send him off into the world of kindergarten each day. Some days he comes home looking like a penny from 1776, but his retelling of the day make it soooo worth the laundry nightmare.
It’s only dirt… and God made dirt so dirt don't hurt. But let me tell you, the dirt at his school is bionic dirt. His school dirt laughs in the face of "Oxy-Clean", bleach, and Shout. This shirt never came clean. At least my boy knows how to have a good time! Boys should be dirty! My husband's grandma used to say a boy can soak up an entire tub of clean water and still come out dirty. She said it with a sense of wonder and pride! She knew how to let her sons dig a hole to China and let them climb a rope and ring a bell on the second story of her house. She knew how to raise men! Can I hear an AMEN?
Please feel free to join me and link up your highs and lows of your month. I can’t wait to read them!
Rules: Share as many highs and lows as you want. Use the graphics of your choice. Link up and link back to this post. Farley's rule of 3 applies. Read the two in front of you, and come back and read the one after you.

Interview with a Vampire…

Shout Outs
OK there are no vampires in my post but I could not resist! My Hubby has a blog that I adore. I laugh out loud! You must check out his post called "My Wife Married A Greek God".
He is funny, snarky, and a really good writer. He is going to be interviewing other bloggers that he has taken “A Shine To”. You know what blog he likes? Mine! I have a slight suspicion that he chose me first because he knows where his bread is buttered! Ha! I love my man. Click here to check him out and to check me out too!
The Meet Up Was Magnificent!

Meet Up
Can you stand it? Look at these cute people. Let me tell you, the talent in this group is astonishing! We even had the Channon the director of the Southern California Kinder Conference. We are Fancy Pants!
These are the Kinder Peeps! So fun!!!!!
Left to Right- Kay from Sommer Pride, Heidi from Heidi Songs, Christy from Crayons and Whimsy, Michelle from Apples and ABCs, Hadar from Miss Kindergarten, Fran from Kindergarten Crayons.
Love! Serious Love! These are some hard working women who rock their first grade classrooms! Vikki from Traditions Laughter and Happily Ever After, Katie – It’s Me, Traci from Dragonflies in First, Tammy & Christy who make my heart flutter and from Fluttering Through First, and Kathy from Coloring Outside the Lines.
These are the the Second Grade Sweethearts! Kate from Second Grade Sparkles, Aris from Sailing Into Second , Katie from A Basket Full of Apples.
These ladies are amazing. They work some serious magic!!! Wendy uses her magic wand as a tutor and publisher of Wendy’s Bookworks. Shawna is sprinkling some magic on a different class everyday as a sweet sub. She is the author of The Picture Book Teacher’s Edition. Annie is a homeschooler who is an Educational Fairy Godmother to her own kids and makes us the most wonderful products! She is absolutely and positively the sweetest! She is magic behind The Moffatt Girls.
Our lone upper grade teacher is Layla from Fancy Free In Fouth (pictured right). She is so cute with her baby bump. I loved sharing my basket of fries with her. Michelle Griffo (left) and Layla (right) are college buddies, who went on to teach and get their masters with each other. Lasting friendships are the best!
Awe it’s Kate and Katie (me) Hostess Team / Match Made in Heaven. We had the best time planning this event. The minute I heard Kate’s voice on the phone, I knew I loved this girl!
Winners! We know how to throw a Par-tay! We had raffles and swag! It was like the Oscars with the gifts! Kate and I each provided a $10 TpT gift card and chose 2 winners using our name tags!
Wendy’s Bag-O-Books! She gave us tons of goodies!
Fluttering Through First brought their adorable notepads!
Thanks girls. I love mine!
I know what I am doing for volunteer gifts this year!!!! Christy and Tammy will be blogging a little tutorial for how to do this without burning your house down with a glue gun!
Heidi brought goodies for us too!
I can’t wait to sing these songs with my students!!!!
It was a fun day with amazing women!
Do you think it’s too early to get the next meet up planned???
My husband might think so. A few of us lingered… ordered more fries… then ordered drinks…. then ordered dessert… I got home at 9pm!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband’s first words were,
“Lucy you got some ‘splaning to do!
I thought you would at least be home by 7!
I thought you would at least be home by 7!
Awe, but Ricky, I had so much fun at the meet up! Thanks for putting the “kinder bear” to bed!
