students engage with contractions ! ! !
My pal reminded me that I sing for contractions.
We have a different second verse. See hers here.
It's sung to the tune Mary Had a Little Lamb
I'm the first word, don't change me

My apologies. My favorite art activity is having the students trace their hands on brown construction paper to make hand trees. I found some confetti snowflakes and they had cut out their hands, glued it on black construction paper and decorated with the snowflakes to show winter!
DeleteI'm unfortunately not very crafty- that is why I need your activity! My "art" activities are generally whatever cute thing I can find on the internet. I am a follower, and I follow under Megan R.

My favorite art activity is making Santas to keep track of the days until Christmas!
I love the name of your blog! The Common Core is sometimes like taking bitter medicine - especially when just learning about it. Art - let's see, I guess always making my bulletin boards something the kids have drawn and written about. We have an art teacher, so I go with the easy stuff on my own. I follow you with the name susanlulu. I hope I remember your contraction song - cute!!
